Heres a little explanation about how we perform sod installation: Step 1 Till the Soil areas sodded to a depth of 4 to 6 inches. The length of the grass roots. Step 6: Roll with drum roller to settle and firm surface so that the new sod has a flat surface so that it can make full contact with ground.
